have a bunch of classes leveled at this point and only one slot left. Trying to decide between mesmer elementalist and revenant. Wanted to get opinions on which class would be best for end game stuff and pvp and possibly WvW once I get to that. Warrior and Guardian use it a lot in PVE for melee, Mesmer uses it for ranged attacks. I think Necro with greatsword feels good, but its just way too slow. I was thinking on DH, dunno what is it with ranger but I cant like the class :S idk why (never played it tho) soulbeast is a better version of pve thief, and you can reuse your gear and looks. Soulbeast gets the ability to merge with its pet, this is where greatsword and sword/axe will shine with huge amounts of burst damage potential and alot of survivability through your pets abilities. Untamed is the spamm build. It refunds ability cooldowns when usinf CC on an enemy. It uses hammer as a melee weapon and then basically constantly
Dual swords are the best condi option for the core class, but they pale severely next to Berserker Longbow, and sword/torch performs better than dual swords as the alternate weapon set. It's a sub-optimal but still workable option, and probably the best option you've got if you really want to play a non-Berserker warrior with a condi build.
jacaranda - great for any build, even better if soulbeast. bristleback - good damage. Polar bear - tanky with freeze special. brown bear - tanky with condition purge for ranger. Specials: raven - for frequent swiftness. shark - for underwater. cave spider - if you need to pin something down. Phocaluos.
Ranger: longbow, shortbow, mainhand axe, and war horn are all ranged weapons and powerful options. Thief: scepter specter is very meta and ranged. Deadeye has pistols and rifle as well, but not super meta for group content. Engineer: rifle engineer is exceptionally powerful and simple to play right now. Like, overpowered level.

Thief would be one of my most played classes but a lot of that is for daily crafting, home instance gathering and guild hall gathering. Sometimes other materials too since she has my glyph of bounty. Necro, ranger, engi and formerly rev stats are also potentially heavily polluted by bots.

Revenant would probably be a better third class for that list, thanks to exceptionally high passive healing (mostly from battle scars, but retribution and herald traits contribute as well) and lots of traits that reduce incoming damage and grant defensive boons. 5.
